Review: Play ME by Jennifer Probst

The second book in the Steel Brothers series features Roman “Rome” Steele.  Recently moved to Las Vegas, he works for the same casino as his brother Rick, Castillo Resort and Hotel as a dealer.  Rome is not too thrilled that Rick set him up for a date with the dating service that Rick used, One Night Stand.  Rome is definitely a Dominate both in and out of the bedroom but isn’t so strict that he lays down a set of rules to live by.  Rome’s date is none other than the “Queen of Cards”, Sloane Keller who is known for being ice cold in her determination during a Poker Tournament.

Rome has been half in love with Sloane for years. From her reputation alone, Rome is determined to win her and get her to submit to him.  Sloane looks at Rome with annoyance and dismissive but secretly thinks he is sexy, she just hopes he could hold his own against her. A bet between the two over a Blackjack game ends with Sloane agreeing to submit for one night, giving Rome total control. But she isn't happy with this and starts a fight with Rome. Rome quickly takes control and shows Sloane that letting go of her control in bed is a good thing.  At dawn, Rome leaves and Sloane wakes up alone....

I really enjoyed this short read, I just wish that it was longer.  While there is a lot of sex in the story, obviously since its supposed to be a one night stand, it doesn’t overpower the story in my opinion.  Emotions quickly begin to form a relationship even if both parties start out thinking it’s for one night only.  Rome feels that he has finally found the right woman who will not only submit to his dominate side but also challenge him. He doesn’t want a woman who he can just walk all over, and he believes Sloane is the perfect woman for him. But she had a tough upbringing and doesn't trust very easily. Will she be able to get go of her past and submit to Rome?

This series is kind of a twist of the whole love at first sight philosophy but instead of love at first sight, it's love at a one night stand.  I am really enjoying reading this series.
